Results for the 3rd annual Hooters to Hooters Half Marathon
More than 700 runners registered for the 2nd annual Hooters to Hooters Half Marathon and despite ominous black clouds streaming in ahead of a nasty cold front over 530 ran the beautiful and challenging 13.1 mile course.
The course begins at Hooters on Cleveland ave, proceeds down Colonial Blvd, on to McGregor Blvd, through the beautiful neighborhoods along the Caloosahatchee, then continues through the downtown River district, over the Edison Bridge and back. It then proceeds past the Red Sox's spring training stadium, City of Palms Park, and then continues south to the Edison Mall and then to back to Hooters.
The Hooters to Hooters Half Marathon benefits the Moffitt Cancer Center and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Southwest Florida. Last year it raised $15,772 to go with the $12,000 it raised in the inaugural running.
